Agent

A language model given tools, context, and a role so it can take steps toward a goal.

Ideaspace

A Space is a lens, a view and a boundary over material people and agents work with. It holds references, not content, and grants no access to what it points at. Repos store the pages; a Vault is the larger coordination layer. Local Spaces use Maps today; hosted Spaces, their invitations and their permissions are still being built. See What is an ideaspace?.

Note

A page worth keeping: a question, decision, observation, plan, story, or other piece of understanding that remains useful beyond the current conversation.

Capture

Choosing that a change is worth remembering. A capture records what changed and creates a point in history you can return to.

Reflection

Checking whether the space still matches what experience has taught you, then proposing what should change.

Local

The copy on your computer, where you can work before sharing anything.

Remote

A copy hosted elsewhere that people and agents can use to exchange captured changes.

Map

The answer to “What are you talking about?” A Map lists what a question or a conversation is about and where each thing lives. It gives directions. It does not open doors: a Map can point at things you are not allowed to read.

Exchange

What begins when you send a Note to a person with a question. Usually the question is “What do you mean?” Two people, one topic, an agent on each side. Everything you do on your own computer is free and needs no account: read, write, capture, keep this manual updated. Reaching other people, or publishing a Repo of your own online, needs an account.

Skill

A way of working written down once so your agent does it the same way every time. The most important line is when it applies. See What is a skill?.

Agreement

The visible guidance for how you and an agent work together in a space. It may say what the agent should explain, when it should ask before acting, or what it can do automatically. An Agreement begins in conversation and changes only when you agree to keep the change.
