Check for Updates
This manual will change as people explore it, ask questions, and show us where the guidance is unclear.
If you brought home your own copy, you can ask your agent whether the source has changed:
Check whether there is anything new in the Explorers' Manual. Show me before updating it.
The agent previews:
- pages that changed;
- pages that were added or removed;
- and places where your changes conflict with the source.
Checking a public source does not require an IdeaSpaces account.
Apply an update
After reviewing the preview, say:
Update my copy with the non-conflicting changes.
Your agent applies the changes it can apply safely. If you changed the same material differently, it preserves your version and reports the conflict instead of choosing for you.
When it works
Updates work for a Space previously forked from a maintained source. The source must remain public and continue to allow viewing and forking.
This is a check you ask for. It is not a background notification service.
Underneath
The agent uses two commands:
ideaspaces updateThis previews source changes and conflicts without applying them.
ideaspaces update --yesThis applies non-conflicting source changes.
